Lime Kilns
Till the 50's in India, Limewash was the staple paint for all the houses. It was produced locally by local people and used within the community. After Paint and Cement brands introduced their prestigious brands, we stopped consuming locally.
Sunnambu Kaalvai or Lime Kilns were a common sight that has now become endangered. Here are few pictures of different Lime Kilns of Tamilnadu.
